Tricky
Tricky was a barely-fledged feral squeaker when they had a bad bout of luck. Feeling run down by all the challenges that young pigeons face in the wild, they narrowly escaped the jaws of a dog or other large toothy predator. Kind passers by attempted to feed and shelter them on the street until they could no longer stand, and they were whisked away to us for some R&R. During the predator encounter, Tricky's shoulder was shattered, and unfortunately they will likely never fly again. Tricky now spends their days among feathered, furry, and human friends learning what softness and safety is. Tricky is fully ground-bound at this time, and for their comfort the primary flight feathers on their right wing should be clipped so that they do not drag on the ground or get caught on obstacles. Like most birds his age, they're a nervous nelly, but we look forward to seeing their confidence and personality bloom before going off to their forever home. Almost Home typically does not adopt out birds below 5 months of age, because their personalities change drastically as they mature. In order to set them up for success, we hope to have a better idea of what life with Tricky will be like before we send them home!
